駐美代表同一天舊去新來

我國原任駐美代表沈呂巡星期天離開華府，經由洛杉磯回到國內。5個小時後，新任駐美代表高碩泰抵達華府履新。（劉芳報導）

美東時間星期天清晨，也就是台北時間星期天晚上，我國原任駐美代表沈呂巡在華府杜勒斯國際機場搭機，離開2年2個月的任所。他表示，自己是一介平民，沒有新聞性，卻還有這麼多僑胞趕來送機，令他非常感動。他說，自己從外交崗位退休，但對外交議題的關注並沒有退休。

僑胞與沈呂巡殷殷話別，也不斷高呼「疾風知勁草，板蕩識誠臣」，表達對沈呂巡的欽敬之情。

下午兩點多，也就是台北時間星期一凌晨兩點多，新任駐美代表高碩泰由羅馬飛抵華府杜勒斯機場，他告訴眾多迎接他的僑胞，台美關係是中華民國對外關係最重要的一環；台灣與美國分享普世價值，也是區域和平與安全的盟友，所以蔡英文總統特別指示要進一步深化、強化台美關係，打拼、打拼、再打拼。

高碩泰曾經擔任駐美副代表，他表示，台美關係互惠互利，有很多合作空間，透過對話與溝通，群策群力，他對台美關係進一步發展感到非常樂觀。

很多僑胞揮舞著中華民國國旗歡迎高碩泰。美國在台協會執行理事唐若文也到場迎接。
